The Day After: A Food Coma and a Book Bonanza

Well, folks, I’ve officially entered the “food coma” phase of the post-Thanksgiving festivities. My stomach feels like a tiny black hole that’s consumed an entire Thanksgiving feast. I’m not sure if I’ll ever feel normal again, but hey, at least I’ve got a day off work to recover.

I’m planning to spend the day doing what I do best: reading. I’ve got a stack of books taller than me, and I'm ready to dive in. It’s the perfect way to counteract the food coma. I figure if I read enough, my brain will start to function again, and I’ll forget all about the turkey and stuffing.

I’m thinking I’ll start with Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, a scifi novel that I’ve been dying to read. It’s got an interesting synopsis, and I’m really excited to see how it all unfolds. Plus, the cover is absolutely gorgeous. I might even read it in bed, surrounded by pillows, with a cup of tea. Ah, the simple pleasures in life.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Whether you spent it with family, friends, or just a good book, I hope you enjoyed it. And if you’re feeling a little sluggish today, remember: you’re not alone. We’re all in this food coma together.

Now, excuse me while I go bury myself in a book.

  1. For me, homemade recipes are a symbol of love and togetherness. Cooking gives me freedom to explore flavors and create dishes that reflect my personal taste. From tacos to stews, and from cookies to cakes, each recipe feels like a new journey. Fresh ingredients make the taste more authentic, and the effort makes it more meaningful. Sharing these meals with family brings unmatched joy. The satisfaction of hearing “this tastes amazing” is priceless. Homemade recipes nourish more than the body—they touch the heart and soul. Truly, cooking at home is the simplest way to spread happiness every single day. caracoles a la riojana
