Well, folks, I’ve officially entered the “food coma” phase of the post-Thanksgiving festivities. My stomach feels like a tiny black hole that’s consumed an entire Thanksgiving feast. I’m not sure if I’ll ever feel normal again, but hey, at least I’ve got a day off work to recover.
I’m planning to spend the day doing what I do best: reading. I’ve got a stack of books taller than me, and I'm ready to dive in. It’s the perfect way to counteract the food coma. I figure if I read enough, my brain will start to function again, and I’ll forget all about the turkey and stuffing.
I’m thinking I’ll start with Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, a scifi novel that I’ve been dying to read. It’s got an interesting synopsis, and I’m really excited to see how it all unfolds. Plus, the cover is absolutely gorgeous. I might even read it in bed, surrounded by pillows, with a cup of tea. Ah, the simple pleasures in life.
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Whether you spent it with family, friends, or just a good book, I hope you enjoyed it. And if you’re feeling a little sluggish today, remember: you’re not alone. We’re all in this food coma together.
Now, excuse me while I go bury myself in a book.
