The Teacher is a gripping thriller that goes into the complexities of a seemingly perfect teacher's hidden life. The story unfolds with a masterful blend of suspense and character development, making it a compelling read from start to finish. Although uncomfortable to read at times, definitely one I enjoyed, this book was a page turner.

The novel centers around Addie, a young woman who becomes entangled in a dangerous secret involving her high school teacher, Nate. As she uncovers the dark truth behind his actions, Addie finds herself caught in a web of lies, betrayal, and deadly consequences. McFadden did an excellent job of building tension and kept me guessing until the very end.

One of the strengths of this book is its well-developed characters. Addie is a relatable protagonist who faces immense challenges with courage and determination. Nate is a complex antagonist whose motivations are slowly revealed, adding depth to the story.

Overall, The Teacher is a gripping and thought-provoking thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat. With its compelling characters, suspenseful plot, and important themes, it's a must-read for fans of dark suspense. When I got to the end of the book, I was like WTFFFF. Uncomfortably great book!

My Bookish Confessions - My Guilty Pleasures

 I am going to expose myself by saying that there are books I have read that I have loved, but a little embarrassed to admit. I think we all have a few, DONT LIE LOL. Whether it's a guilty pleasure series or a habit we're not particularly proud of we've all got our bookish skeletons in the closet. Today, let's come clean and share our bookish confessions. 

My LIST:

1. Judging Books by Their Covers: Let's be honest, we've all picked up a book based on its eye-catching cover. Sometimes, it's a total hit, but other times, it's a major disappointment.

2. Hoarding Books: Do you have a towering bookshelf overflowing with books you've never read? You're not alone! It's hard to resist, even if you already have a never-ending TBR pile.

 3. Reading in Secret: Do you hide your reading material from others? Maybe you're embarrassed by your genre preferences or want to avoid interruptions. Whatever the reason, there's nothing wrong with a little secret reading time. LOL especially when reading in a crowded place.

4. Getting Lost in Fictional Worlds: Have you ever felt so immersed in a book that you forgot about your surroundings? It's a wonderful feeling, but it can also make it difficult to return to reality.

5. Reading the Same Author Over and Over: Is there a particular author whose books you can't get enough of? It's a great way to discover new stories and characters within a familiar universe. You already know I will be reading Freida Mcfadden, Colleen Hoover and Riley Sager. 

6. I've cried over a fictional character. Whether it's a heartbreaking loss or a heartwarming moment, I just be sobbing away.

7. I've judged people based on their reading preferences. Don't even pretend like you haven't. Don't worry this is something I am working on. To each their own lol. 

 

8. I've argued with a friend/husband about a book. We all have those heated debates about our favorite characters or plot twists.

 

 9. I've fallen asleep while reading. It's one of my classics and is not even because I am bored, just that I get sleepy easily lol. Honestly some of my best naps have been from falling asleep while listening to the audio and holding the physical book. 

 

10. I've given up on a book because I couldn't understand it. It's okay to admit that a book isn't for you. Especially if there are over complicating words.

This is a book where you want to continue reading and finish in one sitting. I remember thinking I figured out the plot twist and went I got to the end I realized how wrong I was. Michaelides masterfully misdirects the reader, leading them down a path of false assumptions before revealing the shocking truth. The only reason I did not give it a 5/5 is because I wish there were more plot twists throughout the entire book, I felt like I had to wait until the ending to get the big gasp.

Alicia Berenson, a renowned painter, is accused of murdering her husband and is sent to a secluded psychiatric facility. Easily one of my favorite books by Colleen Hoover. This is a must-read book! This book goes through an emotionally charged exploration of the complexities of family relationships. This captivating story follows Morgan Grant and her sixteen-year-old daughter, Clara, as they navigate the challenges of grief, resentment, and misunderstandings.

Morgan, determined to prevent Clara from making the same mistakes she did, finds herself clashing with her daughter's rebellious spirit. Clara, longing for independence and spontaneity, resents her mother's controlling nature. The tension between them is palpable, making their interactions both heartbreaking and relatable.

Overall, Reminders of Him is a touching story that explores themes of love, loss, and redemption. Although not one of my favorite books by this author it offers a heartfelt reading experience for those who appreciate her writing style. If you enjoy stories about redemption and family, this book might be worth checking out.

I was in a reading slump before reading this book and all I can tell you is that when I started reading this I could not put it down. Yes! it was that amazing. 

Verity is a gripping psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. This captivating book follows Lowen, a struggling writer who is hired to complete a bestselling author's unfinished memoir.

As Lowen delves deeper into Verity's life, she discovers a hidden manuscript filled with dark secrets and disturbing confessions. The line between fiction and reality blurs, leaving Lowen questioning everything she knows about Verity and her own life.

Hoover masterfully weaves a suspenseful plot that keeps you guessing until the very end. The ending is a shocking twist that will leave you reeling and questioning everything you thought you knew. When I tell you the ending had me SHOCKED, it really did. Whenever I thought I had the plot down, I was completely twisted around. 

If you're looking for a thrilling read that will keep you up all night, Verity is a must-read. It's a perfect blend of suspense, romance and psychological thriller elements that will leave you wanting more.
